Welcome to The Fast Track! As we continue our Year of Prayer, I invite you to set aside time to seek God, deepen your faith, and put your prayers into practice. Together, we will spend 21 days in prayer, pursue purpose through daily acts of love and service, and encounter the power of Jesus Christ through the Gospel of John.
Fasting is a sacred spiritual discipline that helps us turn our attention toward God. In Matthew 6:16–18, Jesus teaches us to fast with sincerity before our Father. Let this season open our hearts to God’s direction and strengthen our commitment to the people God has called us to love.
Our 21 daily practices run from Monday, November 2, through Sunday, November 22. We will read one chapter of John each day, completing all 21 chapters. We will celebrate a Thanksgiving Service together on Monday, November 23 at 7:00pm.
Monday–Friday, set aside time to pray at 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Each day, pray the focus, complete the purpose action, and read and reflect on the assigned chapter of John.
Choosing your fast
Choose your fast prayerfully. If you plan to change your food intake, consult your physician about what is appropriate for you. You may choose a Daniel-style fast centered on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains; a partial fast from selected foods; or a fast from social media, entertainment, or another distraction.
We invite you on this journey to come expecting God to speak. Make room to listen. Keep a journal of your prayers, what you learn, and the steps God is calling you to take.
