Women's History Month ~ Celebrating Women in the Gospel
Greater Queens (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated with it's sponsor, Spectrum, is bringing this unique Women's History Month event to Queens. Enjoy an afternoon of networking and a plated lunch with a performance by Grammy Award Winning Yolanda Adams. The event is to be moderated by Cheryl Wills, NY1 Anchor and acclaimed author of “Isn’t Her Grace Amazing: The Women Who Changed Gospel Music.”
At the event, they will honor five community leaders who have contributed to ensuring diversity and representation and who inspire the growth and development of our children, specifically girls and young women, and the educational and professional advancement of women in New York City and our nation.
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation established in 1946. The membership comprises more than 17,000 professional women of African descent in 299 chapters in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
Greater Queens (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was chartered in 1996. In keeping with The Links, Incorporated's mandate to enhance the quality of life in our community through their volunteer community service programs, they have focused their energies and commitment to following the five-facet programming guidelines established by The Links Incorporated - Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services.
