Grace and Peace, It is my pleasure to welcome you to “Kingdom Arise 2008!” the 5th Annual Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral Young Adult Conference. Eight years have passed since The Young Adult Ministry’s inception. Over time this Conference has continued to expand and flourish. Year after year it has been a time of blessing, renewal and strengthening; attendees have received insight and spiritual direction. For several months, we have prayed and this year we expect no less. Our Conference Theme, drawn from Hebrews 12:26-28 suggests God removes unstable, things, so that only firm, unshakable things will remain. God invites us to actively participate in this process of removing faulty foundations that betray the strong lives we seek to build. Hebrews suggests, when the faulty is removed we are available to receive an unshakable Kingdom. As Kingdom people, we welcome God’s perfecting of every aspect of our lives, because we know that God’s purpose and plan are best for us. For some this week will be a new beginning; for others it will be yet another step in an important process. My reminder to you is that God, who has begun a great work in you, is faithful to bring it to awesome completion. God’s Favor to you! The Reverend Terrance M. McKinley, Young Adult Minister |
